As Chairman & CEO, Aravind focuses relentlessly on strategic initiatives and long-term growth.
Aravind believes that modern manufacturing is powered by a combination of two forces: continuous innovation and uninhibited collaboration. To that end, he has built a global ecosystem that drives scale and efficiency through organic growth, acquisitions, and joint ventures. The Aequs manufacturing facilities in Belgaum, India and Houston, Texas are co-located with other companies in the supply chain to minimize cycle time and simplify logistics for customers. Aequs has a portfolio of joint venture partnerships with world-class companies including: Magellan Aerospace of Canada and Aubert & Duval of France, and Saab AB of Sweden.
Aravind is a board member of QuEST Global, a company he co-founded in 1997 which is now a globally-recognized provider of outsourced engineering services.
Aravind holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from National Institute of Technology Karnataka and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He has been conferred the ‘Young Achiever Award’ by the Indo-American Society.
Executive Vice President, Global Sales & Strategy
Walt Sirmans is President, Aerospace responsible for all aerospace holdings including both core machining business units as well as its joint venture partnerships. He joined Aequs in June 2011 as SVP of Global Sales and Strategy with added leadership responsibilities for both Engineering and Account Management along the way.
Walt brings 29 years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing and the aviation services market segments. Since 2002, he has held executive leadership positions with Sabreliner Corporation, GKN Aerospace North America and Lockheed Martin’s Global Sustainment business. Walt began his career with United Technologies’ Pratt & Whitney, where he held a number of leadership positions within its Military Engines unit, serving most recently as Program Manager for the F135 propulsion system for the F-35. In 2001, his JSF propulsion team was among those honoured with the prestigious Collier Trophy.
Walt holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His professional education includes the Executive Integral Leadership program at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza School of Business and the Emerging Leaders Program at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
Group CFO and Managing Director, India
Rajeev Kaul is Group CFO and Managing Director, India. He is responsible for Finance, Human Resources, Administration, Infrastructure and IT. Rajeev joined QuEST Global, now an Aequs Portfolio Company in February 2003 as Senior Manager, Finance and has held the CFO position at Aequs since it’s inception.
Rajeev brings with him more than 15 years of industry experience. Before joining Aequs, he worked with A.F. Ferguson & Co and his current areas of specialization include Banking and Corporate Finance, Legal Risk Assessment, Strategic sourcing and Business Process Review. He was instrumental in setting up subsidiaries in different geographical locations, and was involved in strengthening mechanisms like Contract Review and Legal Risk Compliance. He has played a significant role in establishing various Aequs Joint Ventures in India and also serves as a Board member on all JV companies.
Rajeev holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics (Honours) from Delhi University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Executive Vice President, Global Operations
Konrad Hahnelt is Senior Vice President, Aerospace - Global Operations. He holds the responsibility for leading Aequs’ global site operations located in France, India and the U.S. His operational responsibilities include production, engineering, quality and procurement. In addition, Konrad will champion all business process excellence initiatives for Aerospace.
Konrad joined Aequs in March 2016 and brings along over 20 years of extensive operational and supply chain experience in the Aerospace industry. Most recently, he served as Vice President of North American Operations for Magellan Aerospace where he guided their North American operating divisions, global supply chain development and India subcontract support organization.
He is quite familiar with the culture and customs of China and India and understands the benefits and challenges of operating in these regions by virtue of his previous experience in operational management and overseas supply chain development (with a focus on India and China).

Senior Vice President, Aerospace - Global Sales and Strategy
Steve Smith is a Senior Vice President, Aerospace - Global Sales and Strategy. He is responsible for operations and growth, encompassing financial, operational, and strategic objectives. He joined Aequs in January of 2015 and works closely with the India team to establish integrated growth solutions across Aequs’ global customer base.
Steve brings over 25 years of experience in the Aerospace & Defence Industry, spanning commercial, supply chain, business development and operational roles for GKN and most recently as the president (EMEA) for AGC AeroComposites.
Operating at senior levels for both multi-billion dollar tier 1 and multi-national tier 2 companies, Steve has considerable experience in delivering results under challenging growth budgets, launching and managing joint ventures, and integrating acquisitions.
Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Classics from the University of Wales and has lived and worked in the U.S., Europe and China.
Vice President, Industrial
Andrew Buchan is Vice President, Industrial responsible for leading the Industrial segment at Aequs with business located in Belgaum, India and Houston, USA. Andrew joined Aequs in February 2013.
Andrew has over 10 years of experience in Oil and Gas Manufacturing and Supply Chain. Before joining Aequs, he has worked at Halliburton where he was responsible for the Manufacturing Operations in Houston for the Sperry Product Line. He started his career with Halliburton through their Supply Chain Management Program and then on to other positions of increasing responsibility, focusing on Lean Six Sigma, Strategy Deployment, Quality and Production.
Andrew holds a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. His professional education includes Business Leadership Development from the Centre for Executive Development at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University.
P Madan Mohan
Vice President, Human Resources
P Madan Mohan is Vice President of Human Resources at Aequs. Madan Mohan joined Aequs in August 2014 to lead the design, development and execution of human resources (HR) strategy to enable Aequs to achieve its Mission, Vision and Objectives. He is responsible for the full gamut of HR priorities including strategic sourcing of talent, industrial relations, recognition and reward, employee training, talent management, succession planning and leadership development.
Madan Mohan brings more than 25 years of HR experience in leadership roles with organizations including BEML, UB Group, INDAL- IHEL, Lucas –TVS of the TVS Group and Biological E. Ltd. In his most recent role as Vice President of HR with the Aditya Birla Group – Grasim Industries, Madan Mohan provided strategic and operational HR support for the Group’s pulp and fibre business. Madan Mohan’s HR experience base includes HR strategy, HR systems and practices, organizational development & organizational behaviour, learning & development, implementing high performance cultures, industrial relations, corporate social responsibility and EHS. Highlights of his HR career include the successful development and signing of more than twelve long term wage agreements with various affiliated unions across India.
Madan Mohan holds a master’s degree in personnel management & industrial relations from the TATA Institute of Social Science (TISS). He also holds a master’s degree in economic history from the Central University of Hyderabad.
Vice President, Operations, France
Damien Moreau is the Vice President, Operations - France and prior to joining Aequs he was with WG Henschen as an EVP/COO. He has over 12 years of experience in Aerospace Manufacturing and Distribution. Damien's Aerospace experience includes senior positions within organisations such as PCC and GKN Aerospace.
He has been in various leadership roles in organizations focused on enhancing process & people capabilities, creating value added services for customer satisfaction and driving a sustainable growth trajectory.
Damien holds Master's Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers (ENSAM). He also holds a Master Degree in Business Administration specialized in Aerospace & Defense from the University of Tennessee.
Director, Corporate Development
Nayana Wali is the Director, Corporate Development. She holds the responsibility of evaluating and monitoring of Investments for various Acquisitions, Greenfield investments, JVs and Large capital projects across the Aequs global portfolio. She plays a pivotal role in driving key Corporate Projects by partnering with various stakeholders. Nayana joined Aequs in July 2011 as Manager- Finance and looked after Finance and Treasury operations. She has been instrumental in streamlining and establishing key processes to support organizational growth. She is also engaged in project management for various organizational initiatives.
Before joining Aequs, Nayana had worked with Price Waterhouse as part of its assurance division. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) from Pune University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
